Folter Records, black vinyl, ltd. 200 "The occult horde AMYSTERY is back with its fourth album “Chaos Empire Satan”, a raw and noble work that preserves and celebrates traditional black metal as an art form in its own right. They are not an uninspired copy of an old genre great, but rather uncompromisingly forge their own, authentic black steel, which is often in attack mode, but also soars to sublime, mystical greatness in compositions such as “Spirits In Fire” or “Infestation”. After a creative break of several years, the Bavarians AMYSTERY reunited in 2018 with a different line-up to continue working on new material together. In the summer of 2021, there was another line-up change, since then the band has consisted of three people: Grond (drums), Culpa (bass) and Nephesus (vocals, guitar). AMYSTERY is not a band where a new album results from individuals single-handedly sending recorded sound files to each other's computers - the ideas, riffs etc. for the ten songs on “Chaos Empire Satan” were collected together in the rehearsal room and worked out there. Three new songs were already presented on their tour in February 2023, the remaining six were created in the period up to December 2023. In terms of content, “Chaos Empire Satan” deals with the theories and power of chaos magic according to Peter James Carroll and describes the associated practices and effects on life and the soul. It also deals withthe ambivalence between the supposed nothingness of earthly life on a cosmic and multidimensional scale and the greatness of one's own personal (multi-)universe with the resulting maximum liberty of creative freedom, effectiveness and influence. AMYSTERY as a band celebrates this conviction, which already played a major role in the previous album “All Hail The Cult” and is now even more central to the new album."
