"Tracks II: The Lost Albums" - seven never-heard Bruce Springsteen albums recorded between 1983-2018.
With 83 never-before-heard songs, the collection "The Lost Albums" completes the chapters of Springsteen's 35-year (1983-2018) career and offers a great insight into his life and work. The artist himself says about The Lost Albums: "All these LPs are completed albums - some of them were even about to be mixed - but they were never released. I've listened to them a lot over the years or played them to close friends and I'm glad you finally have the chance to hear them. I hope you enjoy them."
Starting with the low-fi songs on the LP "LA Garage Sessions '83", which bridges the gap between "Nebraska" and "Born in the U.S.A." to the tracks dominated by drum loops and synthesizers on "Streets of Philadelphia Sessions", the collection demonstrates the complexity of Springsteen's songwriting and also shows his penchant for home recording, which Bruce Springsteen explains as follows: "Thanks to the opportunity to record at home whenever I felt like it, I was able to experiment with all kinds of musical styles."
This love of experimentation is reflected in the longplayers on The Lost Albums. On "Faithless" we hear songs for a movie that was never made and on "Somewhere North of Nashville" arrangements in a country sound with pedal steel guitar. The album "Inyo" offers masterfully told stories from the borderland, while on "Twilight Hours" we can expect orchestral sounds like in a 1950s film noir. "Perfect World", on the other hand, is characterized by arena rock in the E-Street style.
The Lost Albums will be released as a limited edition with nine LPs. The collection will also be available on seven CDs. Each of the collected albums has been given its own distinctive cover and the set also includes a 100-page cloth-bound booklet. Here the fan will find rare archive photos, liner notes by journalist Erik Flannigan and a personal introduction by Bruce Springsteen.
