Following the success of their debut album Holy Diver, Dio frontman Ronnie James Dio continued on his successful path and released the biggest hit in the band's history in 1984 with The Last in Line. Supported by a video for the title track of the same name, which was broadcast on the then still young music channel MTV, Dio became a stadium hit. With the title track "We Rock", a classic metal opener, Dio set the tone for the album. The Last in Line is powerful hard rock with impressive guitar solos by Vivian Campbell, fantastic lyrics and the distinctive voice of Ronnie James Dio. The line-up is completed by bassist Jimmy Bain, drummer Vinny Appice and the new addition on keyboards, Claude Schnell.
