Sodom is a German thrash metal band founded in 1981 in Gelsenkirchen and is considered one of the big four of Teutonic thrash metal alongside Kreator, Destruction and Tankard. Over the course of their 43-year career, they have released seventeen studio albums and constantly tour the world in front of sold-out festival and club audiences to an enthusiastic fan base. They also have a loyal fan club, the Sodomaniacs. Their last studio album reached number 10 in the charts in Germany.

This is a reissue of their fifth album "Tapping The Vein", originally released in 1992 and considered one of the best in their extensive catalog. It was only available in limited quantities on vinyl. The original album has been remastered by guitarist Andy Brings, who has also created a brand new remix of the album with some additional previously unreleased studio recordings from the album sessions. There are also three complete, previously unreleased concerts from the "Tapping The Vein" tour cycle, including a recording of former drummer Christian Dudek's last performance with the band in Cologne.
