The fantastic four
In 2000, the Frankfurt thrashers released the album that was to shape their nickname: "Kings Of Beer". “Kings of Beer” once again underlined the most fundamental thesis in the history of heavy metal: Other bands play, Tankard drink. This they did in copious qualities alongside their new guitarist Andi Gutjahr who joined these most venerable troupe of bottle openers after a downright casting ordeal. Dubious highlight: A geezer calling himself “Lord of Darkness” who couldn’t so much as to hold the guitar the right way but sported his own personalized condoms. Talent, it seems, comes in many different shapes. After Andi landed the gig, Gerre called Andy’s mother who passed on the happy news that forthwith, her son shall be a part of this beer consuming, disco destroying entity. And even though things were slow at the time, they simply kept on going like an immortal machinery, well oiled with beer and apple wine. What’s really noteworthy is that the addition of powerhouse Andi to their ranks meant the final change in a line-up that exists to this day. Gerre, Andi, Frank, Olaf: Eight fists for a halle-booze-jah!
