Tony Iommi is an English musician. He co-founded the seminal heavy metal band Black Sabbath and was the band's guitarist, bandleader, main composer and only continuous member for over five decades. He is considered one of the trailblazers and pioneers of heavy metal music and has inspired numerous sub-genres of metal. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time. Iommi has won a number of awards. These include Q Awards, Kerrang! Awards and three Grammy Awards, which he won as a member of Black Sabbath.
Glenn Hughes is an English musician best known as the bassist and vocalist in the hard rock band Trapeze and in the Mk. III and IV line-ups of Deep Purple. He was also briefly the frontman of Black Sabbath in the mid-1980s. As well as being an active session musician, Hughes has also pursued a remarkable solo career. He currently fronts the supergroup Black Country Communion and was frontman of California Breed from 2013 to 2015 and frontman of The Dead Daisies from 2019 to 2023. in 2016, Hughes was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple.
This is a reissue of the 1996 album "DEP Sessions" - a joint studio album by legendary Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi and former Sabbath frontman Glenn Hughes. The album was originally released in 2004 and contains tracks recorded in 1996 at DEP International Studios in Digbeth, Birmingham.
