Vertigo, jewelcase CD, Even a "Queen of Metal" starts somewhere: March 1984 sees the release of "Burning The Witches", Warlock's first record - with Doro Pesch on vocals
Burning The Witches is the name of the debut and offers unpolished, but not uncharming Heavy Metal in early eighties tradition - no poser stuff, no Thrash, but traditional goods with studded wristband and cowl. The tracks are called Signs Of Satan or Metal Racer and contrast cutbacks in songwriting with audible passion. Especially the title track proves to be a hit right away, also the obligatory ballad - Without You - is not missing
Women, by the way, were rare to non-existent in the world of hard music back then, but Doro follows through and kicks down a few doors on the way to metal equality - which is why she still enjoys the respect of the fan community today and can rightly be called "Queen Of Metal".
