U.S. Metal aficionados know well how the great state of Ohio was prolific in excellent bands. These metal heroes from Toledo belong to that elite by their own right! Their first two albums (Every Dog Has Its Day from 1987 and Stop This War from 1989) are undoubtedly among the best albums of the 80's, when it comes to heavy / power metal made in North America. Stop This War includes a total of 10 original songs recorded in studio, with the song Break Out being one of the band's greatest classics, largely due to the extensive airplay that the official music video had on MTV's Headbangers Ball, being one of the most cherished videos of Damien's fan base. Edward Shimborske III writes: "Break Out, the single from Stop This War, aired on MTV's Headbangers Ball numerous times in 1989 and 1990. The impressive video featured the band performing live at Roxanne’s (in Toledo, Ohio), interspersed with footage of local bad-ass motorcycle club, the Iron Coffins, as well as a bevy of local beauties, friends, and family members. The clip helped escalate record sales, and the record earned even more stellar reviews, expanding the band’s burgeoning fanbase. Damien quickly elevated its adoration and admiration a thousand-fold in foreign markets (where the band’s style had commonly been referred to as “power metal”)."
