Music, essentially, is a weapon to destroy the walls we built around us – and Finnish metal melancholists INSOMNIUM are amongst its strongest wielders. Their latest studio album, “Anno 1696” (released in early 2023) conquered the international album charts, including #1 in Finland and #5 in Germany. It was followed up by the addendum-like EP “Songs of the Dusk”, that took the listener on an additional journey into a dark and foggy past.

An album born of the melancholy, sorrow and dreariness of long winter nights, as relentless and overwhelming as an autumn storm and yet as refreshing as the first sunbeams of a spring morning and as peaceful as a mild summer's eve.
