Atlantic, 2 cd deluxe digipack, John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant came together as Led Zeppelin in 1968. Over the next decade, the band evolved into one of the most influential, innovative and successful groups in modern music, selling more than 300 million albums worldwide. Their songs are among the most celebrated in rock and roll history and still resonate with fans young and old around the world "Led Zeppelin was supposed to be a guitar-dominated band from the beginning: no horns, no keyboards, mostly guitar. I wanted to bring all my stylistic range and all my skills as a guitarist from the first album. I played the guitar with a fiddle bow, with my fingers, I played pedal steel guitar, bottleneck, blues guitar or rock guitar," says Jimmy Page. Robert Plant: "My motivation even as a young boy was to be able to make a living with music. People always assume it was because I wanted to be famous, a rock star - but no: I just wanted to get around having to do a boring job and instead do something I was really passionate about - and I did."
